He has served as an officer in the New Zealand Army and has the ability to relate to people across the spectrum of society. He is a capable and practical architectural designer and project manager and he has been a consultant and advisor to many companies including GE Capital, Siemens and Macquarie Capital as well as individuals in property development and investment for the last 20 years.

With a lifetime involvement with hotels, David has broad international experience having worked in senior management and corporate roles within the hospitality industry across Asia, the US, Australia and New Zealand. David has held Chief Operating Officer and Vice President roles for InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Dusit International. David has deep operational, project and marketing expertise that have been successfully applied to new developments in New Zealand.
